Compliance Certification

The University of New Orleans is pleased to respond to the Compliance Certification portion of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' (SACS) Principles of Accreditation: Foundations for Quality Enhancement. Internet Access Required The university seeks to demonstrate its compliance with the integrity and quality enhancement standards according to SACS' principles and philosophy of accreditation. (University of New Orleans Institutional Summary Form Prepared for Commission Reviews.)

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Core Requirement 2.12, is not part of this report. The QEP will be submitted by the COC-SACS' deadline in early 2005.

Information for the SACS review is presented through a dedicated website (sacs.uno.edu) and also through a self-contained CD. Instructions, help, and technical tips are available by clicking on "Help Info" on the left panel.

Note: The Compliance Certification is designed to be viewed with Internet Explorer 6 or Netscape 7.1 and Adobe Reader 6.0. The Adobe Reader Version 6.0 can be downloaded freely from the Adobe website. The university has secured legal permission from Adobe to include an installation option for the Adobe Reader on the CD for your convenience. This will accommodate those who do not have Internet access.

The website is divided into three major categories according to SACS Principles of Accreditation. They are accessible through selections on the left panel.

Core Requirements

"...basic qualifications that an institution must meet to be accredited with the Commission on Colleges."

Comprehensive Standards

"...the policy or procedure is in writing, approved through appropriate institutional processes, published in appropriate institutional documents accessible to those affected by the policy or procedure, and implemented and enforced by the institution."
